ABOUT

Simon Johnson is a producer, songwriter and sought after session musician. At 20 he signed with Rak Publishing, working alongside legendary producer Mickie Most, an apprenticeship that led to a multitude of collaborations and opportunities. His talents have seen him play for the likes of Sir Tom Jones, Lulu, Lana Del Rey, Ella Eyre, Mark Knopfler, James Morrison, Sir Cliff Richard, Rudimental and Van Morrison. Alongside this, he has also worked within the music department on several films including Wild Rose (2018), 

Fisherman’s Friends (2019) and Blithe Spirit (2020). He resides in the New Forest.

Between working in the studio and on the road, Simon has toured the world performing alongside numerous iconic performers. He is available for online sessions in his studio, with an extensive equipment list, as seen here. Please get in contact for more information.

PRODUCTION / SONGWRITING

​

After 25 years in the industry, Simon has now moved his expertise into the world of film, most recently being Music Consultant for Blithe Spirit (2020). He not only wrote several songs for the film but also produced the soundtrack - working with Gregory Porter, Imelda May, Alfie Boe and Micheal Ball.
